Corey vs The Light Switch

P1020217
Corey is back in the garage and he’s working on the raffle bike. This means it’s time for a update to this blog.

I’ll try to keep up with Corey and keep all of you updated on the state of the bike, starting now with the light switch.

The bike has been sitting for a long time and the switch didn’t work. Since we’ll have to go through the and the wiring pretty thoroughly, Corey started taking the switch apart and that meant getting out the drill and removing the heads on the bolts that hold the switch to the handle bar.

P1020222 Once they were off the switch popped off pretty quickly and it was just a matter of disconnecting the wires.

The switch itself is in decent condition and hopefully can be reused. When the bike is put back together.

The wiring is a little rough and will need some attention or replacement, but we can make those kind of decisions when we get to the reassembly phase of this rebuild.

With the switch off, the bolts had to be removed from the handle bar light switch support.

This turned into a bit of a battle and Corey had to use release agents and heat.

Corey did eventually win this battle and now everything is set aside, ready for reassembly.

There are more pictures coming and some fun details about the rally. In the mean time, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave a comment or send me an email.P1020233

  1. Many more photos to come as time allows.
I have an inventory of the scooter now and a list of parts needs.

I will dig it up and post on here…. Perhaps some of you may have some decent used parts that could be used to support the CURD rally raffle scooter rebuild?
